Chutes

Rents out computing power so anyone can run AI models without owning the hardware.

What this actually is

Running a modern AI model needs expensive computers. Most people and most small companies cannot afford them, and renting from the big cloud providers is costly and slow to set up.

Chutes is a marketplace for that computing power. People with spare machines plug them in and get paid in TAO. People who need to run a model rent those machines by the minute. Think of it as an Airbnb for computers that run AI.

What they are trying to do

They want to be the default place people go when they need to run an AI model and do not want to own the hardware.

To get there they need three things: enough machines plugged in that there is always one free, prices low enough to beat the big cloud providers, and reliability good enough that a business would trust it for real work.

How far along they are

65%

The marketplace works and people use it daily, which is further than most subnets get. The open question is reliability at scale: renting a machine for a hobby project is very different from a company betting its product on one.

A rough read based on what they have said and shipped, not an official measure. Treat it as a sense of direction, nothing more.

How the chart looksTrending up

The price has climbed steadily over the last few months rather than spiking, which usually points at people actually using the thing rather than a short burst of speculation. It has held its level through two market-wide dips.

Describing what the price has done is not a view on what it will do. Nothing here is financial advice.
